If you've had your eyes on the Sew Confident! tutorial called Denim Chicago Jacket, you'll be happy to see we are offering kits with all you need to make your own pieced Chicago Jacket!
Some of you will already have this tutorial from August 2015 in your Sew Confident! library. If you weren't a member of Sew Confident! 2015, or if you haven't already purchased this individual tutorial, you can do so here.
In this tutorial, you will construct the Chicago Jacket in a stretch denim. Learn to keep a journal of design ideas and stitching samples, use inner construction details as exterior contrasting embellishments, make a sleeve facing and a yoke pattern, sew stretch denim fabric using good seam and hem finishes, and produce good topstitching on denim.
We pulled some great fabrics together for these kits. The Chicago Jacket Denim kit comes with 2 1/2 yards of Classic Stretch Denim and a Cotton/Linen bundle of 10 fat third pieces for you to play with in your piecing.
The kit is available with or without the pattern - just select which option you would like before clicking Add to Bag. If you choose the combo with the pattern, you're getting a great price of only $18 for the pattern!
Have fun with your denim bundles and send pictures of your projects our way!
