Satin-back silk crepe
For a couple of years now, I have been touting the slimming benefits of making our Plaza Pant in black satin-back silk crepe. I made my first pair two years ago and it has become a joke around the office that I must not have anything else to wear. I wear them at least two times a week - to work and for dressier occasions, too. When I have them on, people stop me and ask if I have lost weight! The fabric is not all that easy to find, so finally I stumbled upon a great source that has just the perfect quality that I like.
We are now offering this fabulous fabric. It's 45" wide and we are selling it for $50.00 per yard (I've seen it as high as $150.00 per yard in some stores in New York and San Francisco). Just give us a call at 1 800 466-1599 to order or request a sample. I guarantee that you will fall in love with this fabric.

New Exotic Fabrics
As some of you know, I used to own a very sweet fabric store named threadwear, so I've had a lot of experience buying and selling fabric. I recently ran into a group of very interesting fabrics, the likes of which I have never seen before - ever. So I decided to buy them and offer them to you at very special prices. They are end cuts from European designers. There are a couple of brightly-colored printed wools, one very drapey, sheer wool with almost flock-like flowers on it, and another stretch knit that looks like an abstract painting.
I know it's hard to buy fabric without feeling it, so if you need a small sample to help make your decision, please let us know.

Milano T
We are featuring five different Dolce & Gabana cotton t-shirt panels on this web site. Erin made two Milano T's using the panels (see the gallery). To take out some of the fullness and to get the pattern out of the yardage, she made a 3/4" fold in the pattern about 4" from the neckline on both the front and back pieces. This took out about 1 1/2" of fullness and made the fit more contemporary. On one of the shirts she placed the signature design in the center of the shirt and she placed it to the side front on another one. Having never worked with a knit before, she's now hooked and making more. I'm next.

Creative Machine group
I am the guest host this week on the Creative Machine news group. The participants are very curious about the pattern collection, the ins and outs of it, fabric recommendations, fit, etc. I urge you to sign up and check out all the interesting conversations that go on with this group. To sign up, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/creativemachine/
Right now, I am sewing a San Diego Jacket in Burmese silk to wear as a blouse under a Peony Vest. I love this fabric. It washes so well and comes in luscious colors. And it's easy to sew! Go to www.bohemianelement.com and check out the fabric.

Hello from Linda Lee
Hi Everyone,
We are excited about our new web site design and hope that you find it easy to work with and inspirational as well. Check out the gallery for all kinds of garments made up in variations of the patterns and in great fabrics (some of which we still have, and you can buy them!!!)
I just returned from the International Textile Show in Las Vegas and I'm ready to make a few patterns up in some summer neutrals. My first piece will be the San Diego Jacket made as a shirt in an off-white linen, then I'll make a Peony Vest to wear over it in a coarsely-woven texture in a natural color. And of course, I'll wear both over my Plaza Pants (the only pant for me) in a darker neutral (something drapey).
I'm digging in my old jeweley drawer from something big and bold and neutral.
Until later...happy sewing.
Linda
