Reinvent the Inventor

Designer Challenge!

We always try to encourage our customers to think outside of the box. Get creative with our patterns and try new things. There are so many sources of inspiration out there; art, architecture, landscapes, fabric and textures, magazines and catalogs, retail stores. Use the environment around you to inspire your next creation!

The Inventor Shirt Designer Challenge is just the encouragement we all need to put all those thoughts into action. To read all about the challenge before you, click here: Reinvent the Inventor.

Here are a few examples to get you started.
To start, you can look towards fall styles such as boxy jackets (think retro), tunics and knit dresses.

These are great examples of what you can do leaving off the collar(s). Or you could add gathering details or bell sleeves. Jackets: Anthropologie www.anthropologie.com

Using sweater knits is definitely on trend. Try this great tab detail on the sleeve. Dress: Cynthia Vincent www.shopbop.com

Experiment with different textures and fabrics. Plaids are everywhere this season. You can keep it classic or try banded puff sleeves like the example above. Jackets: Alice + Olivia www.shopbop.com; Urban Outfitters www.urbanoutfitters.com

Happy Sewing!!
