Over the last year we have been featuring #makethiswiththat posts on The Sewing Workshop Instagram page. In this series we feature ready-to-wear clothes as inspiration for using Sewing Workshop garments. Here is the first roundup of our posts from 2019.

This casual and cozy jacket is one of those perfect layering pieces that you wear all the time. Create your own version with our eShrug pattern - simply lengthen the sleeves and torso to your specifications. I love the speckled look of the original, so I would recommend using our Grey Speck Fleece fabric.

Loving this look? #makethiswiththat using our Cottage Shirt pattern and our gorgeous Carnation Pink Crepe fabric. Breezy and Elegant!

I mean, these pants, right? They had to become a #makethiswiththat - To create this look, just tweak the pocket of our West End Pants. Use our Bordeaux Linen for a similar rich wine color. And yes the fabric is linen and the pants will wrinkle, but they will look even more fabulous for it.

Keeping with our comfy theme, today's #makethiswiththat installment is inspired by this lovely knit top. You can create a very similar version using our Hudson Shirt pattern and our (super soft and gorgeous) Heather Brick Jersey Knit.

This lightweight plaid jacket is lovely layer for spring (if spring ever shows up). Our Chateau Coat pattern would give you a similar look, shortened slightly and maybe with a lengthened sleeve. We also have this Reversible Green Plaid fabric on sale for only $8, which lets you wear plaid without looking too lumberjack-ish.

//sewingworkshop.com/Today's #makethiswiththat is a fun one, just in time for spring. To make this fun little ready-made dress just lengthen our Swing Tee pattern and add a little ruffle at the bottom. Done. How easy is that?

This week's #makethiswiththat inspiration is a cool and casual look for spring. Recreate it using our London Shirt pattern and new Apple linen fabric. Pair it with white Pencil Pants.

//sewingworkshop.com/Today's #makethiswiththat combines sewing, royalty and movie stars. I mean, can it get any better? Make your own homage to Grace Kelly by making a casual cream knit Hudson Top. Pair it with our slim-cut Pencil Pants pattern and a pair of fabulous sunglasses and you will look like sewing royalty!

//sewingworkshop.com/Today's #makethiswiththat is a ready-to-wear ensemble that I found that reminds us that keeping it simple keeps it elegant. Recreate this look with a knit Eureka Top and linen Picasso Pants. So cool and chic for summer.
