We are so excited to welcome back an old friend, the Bells & Whistles pattern, to our collection. Over the years, we have had many requests to bring this style back. Finally, this summer after seeing a customer wear her Bells Shirt at a Sew Kansas event, we realized that the design is timeless. Bells & Whistles is not just a duo of boring old button-down shirts. For this pattern we have taken classic designs and redefined them with a twist. Both shirts feature unusual closure bands that add an avant garde look to a archetypal shape. The architectural elements add sophistication to the design. Dress them up with silk or go casual with cotton. Either way, Bells & Whistles will become a staple in your closet and your pattern collection.
The Whistles Shirt is a loose-fitting garment that you can make in two lengths. It features distinctive front and back placket wedges, long sleeves and partially concealed button closures. Details like the side vents and topstitched hems give this shirt a professionally-made look.
The Bells Shirt is semi-fitted with a collar and collar band, curved front band closures, a left shoulder overlay and back darts. It also features below-elbow, set-in sleeves that have a split band and cuff. The floating front band provides imaginative buttoning options.
These are patterns you can personalize. Use different fabrics to showcase the distinctive details of the shirts. Below, Erin is wearing a Bells Shirt where the front band is made in two different coordinating fabrics. She also buttoned the loose band to add some dimension to her top. Marvelous!

Pleasurable post. It appears that almost all of the techniques are banking on the innovation factor. “Love cures people — both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it.” by Dr. Karl Menninger.. 70s clothing
